After graduating college in 2009, I was faced with the decision all graduates eventually encounter: what do I do now?
I've been lucky enough to have traveled extensively through Africa, and every time I have been there, I've tried to involve myself in education initiatives in the area. So going back to teach or work with an NGO in Africa was a serious consideration.
On the other end of the spectrum, since high school, I have wanted to start a clothing company. I've always had a strong appreciation for well-made, vintage and preppy-inspired clothes with a focus on a proper fit. This aesthetic vision and experience interning at a breakthrough clothing company during my summers in college sparked a drive to start a company of my own.
And so Read's Clothing Project was born as a combination of these interests. We make exceptional quality clothes in the USA and for every product sold, we give a book to a child in need. It's actually quite a novel idea.
